Additional information |
The coin depicts the forest of columns in the interior of the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba, built in 784-987 (and redesigned in the 16th century with the addition of a Gothic nave) during the period of desal-Andalusian Moorish Spain. With approximately 23.000 m² the building belongs to the biggest former mosque buildings worldwide. The old town of Córdoba with the Mezquita has been part of the world cultural heritage since 1984. |
