Additional information

William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, poet and actor whose comedies and tragedies are among the most important stage plays of world literature. He had an extensive vocabulary - nearly 18.000 different words are counted in his works of art. Characteristic of Shakespeare is his stylistic diversity, which covers all levels of language from the lowest gutter language to the highest court language. He is depicted after the portrait of Martin Droeshout published in 1623.
