Additional information

Finland's national landscapes symbolise the Finnish character and have a generally recognised importance in Finnish culture, history and perception of nature. The coin depicts, according to a photograph by Juha-Pekka Järvenpää, the view from the top of Mount Koli of the national park of the same name with Lake Pielinen and various islands in Karelia. The mixed forest there consists of, among others, shrub birch (left in the coin's design) and Norway spruce (right).
