In the centre is the profile of Federico da Montefeltro, detail of the painting ‘Diptych of the Dukes of Urbino’ by Piero della Francesca, kept in the Galleries of the Uffizi (Florence). At the left side in semi-circle is the inscription ‘SAN MARINO’. At the right side in semi-circle is the inscription ‘PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA’, the years 1492 e 2022, the letter R, identifying the Mint of Rome and the initials of author Claudia Momoni, ‘C.M.’ The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag. |
