The design depicts in the centre the portraits of the two Italian judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, inspired by a picture of Tony Gentile. Above, the arc-shaped inscription ‘FALCONE – BORSELLINO’, underneath the dates ‘1992 2022’, with the acronym of the Italian Republic ‘RI’ in between; on the right, ‘R’, identifying the Mint of Rome; on the left, ‘VdS’, initials of the designer Valerio de Seta. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag. |
