The globe of the Earth is also shown, symbolizing the geopolitical importance of Cyprus and its contribution to peace and wellbeing of nations. The issuing country’s name “ΚΥΠΡΟΣ - KIBRIS” and the dates “2004-2024” are inscribed at the bottom of the design. Additionally, the phrase “20 ΧΡΌΝΙΑ ΑΠΌ ΤΗΝ ΈΝΤΑΞΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΎΠΡΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΉ ΈΝΩΣΗ” (i.e. 20 years since the accession of Cyprus to the European Union) is inscribed in circle around the design.
